in the city :: food edition

29 Jun

I like to take pictures of my food. I’m not sure where this comes from. Maybe from my obsession with miniature fake food? Anyways, here is a glimpse of our meals the past few weeks. I have been on a mission to eat cleaner by including more fruit and veg and really, when it’s this pretty, why wouldn’t you eat more of that? I have also … {are you ready?} … been running * gasp *. I know. I am not a runner nor am I an early morning kind of person, but I just finished week 3 in the C25K program and nobody is more shocked than myself. Seriously.

i love :: cup & carry

11 Jun

Started by friends Miranda and Steve from Feest, cup & carry is a home cooking blog featuring recipes that fit perfectly into Weck canning jars. The blog just started a few weeks ago, but they already have a handful of recipes ranging from tasty drinks to indulgent desserts. They even have a handy recipe index sorted by courses and ingredients for you to search from!

own label by sainsbury

Usually, people snub their noses at no name or own label brands (Rob’s mom used to buy no name cereal and pour it into brand name boxes), but I am loving this collection of vintage Sainsbury‘s packaging. The new book, Sainsburys Design Studio, celebrates the shift when Peter Dixon joined their design studio and revotuionized their own line: simple, stripped down, creative, and completely different from what they had done before. Could you imagine if they brought these designs back? Pretty!
